INTERESTED IN BECOMING A VENDOR?
We charge a $25 annual fee to join our market and a $15 site fee each time you participate. Please read the by-laws, rules and regulations, and the Cottage Food Law, then fill out the vendor application and 2017 Member Statement and submit them to Meridith Byrd. **Vendors selling ONLY whole produce (not cut up or processed into jellies or other products) are exempt from the requirements below, per the Victoria County Health Department.
Food vendors need to complete the ServSafe Food Handlers course. This online course is inexpensive and easy to complete. In-person classes are held monthly at the Victoria County Health Department. Please call 361-575-4581 for a schedule of upcoming classes.
In addition, food vendors are required to have a Retail Food Permit from the Victoria County Health Department, located at 2805 North Navarro inside the Pattie Dodson Public Health Center. To obtain this permit, you must have already completed the ServSafe Food Handlers Course mentioned above. Vendors operating a COTTAGE FOOD BUSINESS are NOT required to have a Retail Food Permit.
