2009 Food & Fund Drive Under Way!
Help End Local Hunger – Our Food & Fund Drive is in full swing and we need your help. In these tough economic times we are seeing an unprecedented number of people seeking food assistance, some for the very first time. Now more than ever our services are needed to ensure that those being negatively affected by the economic downturn and high food prices have access to the healthy food they need to feed themselves and their families. We are working hard to meet the rise in requests for our services and need the help of our community to achieve our mission.
MOST NEEDED FOODS
The Food Bank needs nutritious, non-perishable foods:
Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
Tuna / canned meat
Peanut butter
Canned foods with pop-top lids
Low sugar cereals
100% fruit juices in single serving boxes
Canned fruit packed in juice
Canned vegetables (low salt)
Please avoid donating items packaged in glass.
We request that you do not purchase bulk quantities of rice, flour or sugar for donation. Please contact the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent at 361-578-0591 for details.
